Logistics World is always looking for ways to improve our services and make life easier for our clients.
At Logistics World we are always looking for ways to improve our services and make life easier for our clients.
Coupled with our extensive transport offering, our warehousing facilities have expanded, allowing us to service the north of England and into Scotland more efficiently.
It was in line with this expansion that it seemed logical to pursue the viability of offering complementary warehousing services.
There has been a significant growth in the number of SKUs that many businesses have to keep stock of, to avoid potential shipping and importing delays, which could have otherwise ultimately resulted in lost sales for them. As such, it is important for suppliers like Logistics World to remain adaptable, react and diversify, in line with the needs of our economy.
- Tim Wilson, MD at Logistics World
Along with off-loading and loading, the warehousing facilities at Logistics World already offered both palletised storage, and if needed, space to house boxes and parcels too. We also offered the facility of there being no minimum storage term, allowing our clients complete flexibility in managing any stock that they held with us. We even offered companies the option to allow us to store goods short term, and re-deliver them when their own drop-off had failed, rather than the time consuming re-booking of failed delivery goods into their own warehouse, coupled with having to re-arrange and deliver the items again!
So, when Logistics World was approached by an established kitchen manufacturer to act as both an overflow for their warehousing and to deliver palletised items when required, we knew we could help. Saving them time, warehousing space and money, once we had implemented the systems to accommodate the kitchen manufacturer, it then naturally led to the expansion of Logistics World complementary warehousing services.
Along with a storage facility, it made sense to also offer a ‘picking and packing’ service. We can now check goods in, and either store them, then pick and pack them for delivery to the end destination, or upon receiving the goods, split up the products accordingly and collate as per the requirements of the customers’ order, prior to delivering
