From Christmas tree recycling and sponsored bike rides, to simply just doing our bit, at Logistics World we aim to support both the local community and further afield in as many ways as we can.

It would be fair to say that ‘charity begins at Logistics World’ and whilst the origins of the phrase ‘charity begins at home’ certainly has some tenuous meanings, we aim to support both the local community and further afield in as many ways as we can.

Back at the end of September, like so many companies up and down the UK, Logistics World hosted a Macmillan coffee morning. With an abundance of baked goodies and cakes, our staff and visitors took a couple of hours out to sample some of the many delicious ‘calorific’ treats, raising just over £210.00 in the process.
These types of events don’t just benefit the charity. Given the speed at which we are expanding, these sorts of events allow everyone the chance to take time out and get to know some of the newer staff a little better, further strengthening relationships between our team members.
- Tim Wilson, MD at Logistics World
Our charity support isn’t just limited to our office staff. Our drivers and their vehicles are already proudly ‘wearing’ their poppies in support of the Royal British Legion, another charity who we are gladly able to support.
Along with supporting national charities, lesser well known charities are equally deserving, and annually, we choose a local charity that’s close to our hearts, close to the area, or both!
Based in Lichfield, The Stan Bowley Trust supports Cyberknife, a non-invasive alternative treatment to open cancer surgery. This charity relies heavily on donations, in conjunction with the many events it organises and hosts, and we’re delighted to be this years’ sponsor of their annual ball.
Taking place on Saturday 20th November, this years’ event will have a Caribbean theme, especially apt given some of the travel restrictions still in place! All tickets have now sold owing to this annual events’ popularity. However, The Stan Bowley Trust is inviting anyone hoping to attend to register their interest on the reserve list.
Who doesn’t love a chance to dress up? We’re really looking forward to ‘dusting off our dancing shoes, getting our glad rags out of the wardrobe and catching up with some of our customers at this fabulous event.
