With an increased demand for deliveries into the north of England and Scotland, Logistics World has recently invested in a new third depot based in Wakefield.
As a transport company which specialises in the safe movement of hazardous goods, refrigerated produce and same day deliveries, Logistics World covers the UK and beyond.
Our collections and deliveries used to be centered around the West Midlands and its surrounding counties, but over recent months there has been a significant increase in the number of jobs taking us to the south coast of England, into the Welsh countryside and even into the north of Scotland. In fact, it was only at the beginning of September that our work took us on a ferry, to courier urgent aerospace parts across to the Isle of Wight.
Locations like this are easily accessible and subsequently handled by our Willenhall depot, whose infrastructure and locality allows us convenient access to the M5, M6, M6 Toll and M1.
These same road networks enable us to fulfil commitments to the north of England and into Scotland. However, as a company which takes great pride in offering a competitive selection of services, our same day deliveries into Scotland were harder to meet.
Coupled with a consistent increase in demand for dangerous and hazardous goods deliveries, and an ongoing shortage of drivers nationally, Logistics World has invested in both upskilling yet more drivers to be ADR qualified and our new, third depot based in Wakefield.
With its close proximity to the M1, M62 and A1(M) to name but a few, we can now effectively commute between all three of our depots, maximise loads and the returning vehicles, and ultimately run a more cost efficient and even speedier service to our northern clients!
Our new Wakefield site is fully operational, and from the many positive comments and feedback from both established clients and new customers based in the north of England and beyond, we couldn’t be happier with our significant investment.
