The Haulage Exchange is fundamentally designed to increase profits, by utilising ‘dead’ mileage.

Formed in 2000, Haulage Exchange is an enterprising initiative, fundamentally designed to increase profits, by utilising ‘dead’ mileage.
Like so many logistics companies, planning loads to maximise both capacity and efficiency is key to the successful operation and profitability of a transport company. However, no matter how good the planning, after the final load is dropped, there is no profitability in returning ‘fresh air’!

Often referred to as ‘dead’ mileage, the Haulage Exchange allows users to add requests for the transporting of goods, so returning journeys can become a profitable delivery too!
Smart load matching
Smart load matching allows the Haulage Exchange is co-ordinate real-time loads with the members vehicles, based on size, location and destination.
An active Exchange member can expect to decrease their empty running costs by more than 60%

The many benefits of The Haulage Exchange…
The Haulage Exchange is in fact responsible for members collectively offering and accepting over 180 million miles of transportation work each year. This equates to £230+ million worth of contracts, as an active Exchange member can expect to decrease their empty running costs by more than 60%.

Coupled with being a more cost effective solution for the logistics industry, there is also the added benefit to the environment.
It’s certainly a way that the world of logistics can play its part in being ‘greener. It’s a scheme that we’ve been considering joining for sometime, and it feels like the right time is now! Along with expanding our team, moving to a new premises and increasing our drivers who hold an ADR licence, 2021 promises to be a very exciting period of growth and expansion for us.
