Due to demand, even more of our drivers will hold an ADR licence in 2021!

By law, anyone transporting dangerous goods is required to hold an ADR licence, and any business is required to appoint a certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
Many of our drivers already currently hold an ADR licence, which allows the driver of the vehicle to safely transport the goods.
What can be transported under an ADR licence?
The types of products which need to be covered by an ADR licence include:
- The safe transportation of dangerous goods via a road tanker
- The safe transportation of tank containers, loaded with dangerous goods
- A vehicle carrying dangerous goods in a bulk quantity
- A vehicle transporting dangerous goods in packages

In 2021, over 50% of our drivers will hold an ADR licence!
The safe transportation of chemicals and other hazardous or dangerous goods is something that Tim Wilson, Managing Director of Logistics World has had experience of for over 20 years. Whilst a specific module of an ADR licence course also covers the transportation of explosives or radioactive material, these are products that Logistics World currently does not deliver.
During the first half of 2020, obviously the demand for hand sanitiser rose significantly. Many logistics companies have very few, if any drivers, who are licenced to transport ADR goods. We were able to respond to many urgent requests that we received, to assist with the safe transport of hand sanitiser in bulk, thanks to the simple fact that so many of our drivers hold this qualification.

Individual products that may be perceived as not being dangerous such as hand sanitiser, when delivered in bulk, subsequently need to be transported under an ADR licence, due to the collective alcohol content!
As part our comprehensive expansion program for 2021, a further three drivers will be trained to transport ADR products in the New Year.
The training, which takes place over a four day intensive course, will bring the total number of Logistics World drivers who hold an ADR licence to over 50%, a statistic that we are justifiably proud of!
