Colleen Fowling joined Logistics World at the beginning of March, and is already proving to be a great addition to our team!
Whilst Colleen is getting to know us and understand the logistical way we work, you may like to find out a little more about her, and perhaps even start a conversation with her about one of these more ‘off the cuff’ topics!
Q. Did you pass your driving test first time?
A. Sadly no, I passed my driving test on my 3rd attempt, having failed the first time for doing 32 in a 30, and failing on the second occasion for getting in the wrong lane at an island. As they say 3rd time is a charm, and luckily enough I passed with flying (or should that be driving) colours.
Q. What’s the worst traffic jam you’ve ever been stuck in?
A. This might make me sound strange, but I actually quite like traffic jams, except when I’m traveling home from work, and then I don’t enjoy them quite so much!
Q. What did you dream of becoming when you were a child?
A. My dream job was to join military police, but I have bad knees, so I was sadly unable to realise this ambition.
Q. What do you most like to listen to whilst driving? (radio, podcast, streaming music)
A. I really enjoy listening to music when I’m driving, and it’s probably another reason why I don’t really mind traffic jams. I’m not into slow music, I like there to be an up-beat tempo and tend to listen to rock music a lot! My favourite band at the moment is Shinedown and I love listening to Pink too!
Q. What form of public transport do you prefer and why? (air, boat, train, bus etc)
A. In all honesty I hate public transport which is a big reason as to why I learned to drive. But, if I had to pick one, I would choose a train as I find it really relaxing listening to the sound and rhythm of a train.
Q. Where would be your ideal holiday location?
A. That’s an easy one… I would love to go to Alaska, I think it looks so beautiful and I love the cold.
Q. Have you always worked in transport?
A. No, this is my first role in the transport and logistics sector. Prior to joining Logistics World, and during covid, I was senior care assistant on a nursing unit. So, although the two roles are poles apart, I love the fact that Logistics World is involved with the NHS and covid vaccination centres, so I feel connected and know that I’m still doing my bit.
