Logistics World – justifiably proud of our Corporate Social Responsibility

They say ‘charity begins at home’ and we certainly believe it starts at Logistics World, especially given that there aren’t many months when we’re not doing some sort of charity work!

At Logistics World, it would be fair to say that we take our corporate social responsibility (CSR) very seriously.

Championed and frequently driven by our own MD, Tim Wilson encourages his staff to support and ‘give back’ to the surrounding community in whatever capacity they can, both as part of Logistics World and as individuals.

Our support includes working with complementary businesses to raise money for national charities including Macmilian, or targeted fundraising and sponsorship of our annually chosen charity, The Stan Bowley Trust

Like previous years, our chosen charity in 2023 has been The Stan Bowley Trust, a Midlands based charity, which was started in 2011 by the family and friends of Alan ‘Stan’ Bowley. A former Staffordshire police officer, Stan received a non-invasive alternative to open surgery called CyberKnife. Sadly, Stan did eventually loose his fight to cancer, but the charity made it their mission to raise enough funds so that the UK could have their own CyberKnife machine.

This charity relies heavily on donations, and in conjunction with the many events it organises, Logistics World was once again delighted to be the sponsor of their annual ball. Held at the Alton Towers hotel on Saturday 18th November, this years’ theme was ‘Under the Sea’ and didn’t disappoint!

Whilst it’s always nice to dress up at these types of events, it’s equally important to challenge ourselves, and this year was no exception as Tim Wilson decided to walk the Three Peaks on behalf of The Stan Bowley Trust. Having decided to undertake the challenge in late May, several wiling fundraisers joined forces with Tim over the Spring bank holiday weekend, collectively raising a whopping £5,000 in the process.

Fast forward a few months and at the end of September, Logistics World hosted our annual Macmillan coffee morning at our offices. Each year sees more and more businesses calling in to sample some of the delicious baked cakes and biscuits, and this year we proudly raised nearly £600.00 for this amazing charity!

These types of fundraising events don’t just benefit the charity. They give our ever expanding team the chance to take a couple of hours out to meet and network with some of our customers and clients who our office staff may only ever speak to

There aren’t many months when Logistics World isn’t doing some sort of charity work, and as well as sponsoring The Stan Bowley Trust ball in November, last month our drivers and their vehicles were proudly ‘wearing’ poppies in support of the Royal British Legion, whilst Tim Wilson, our Managing Director walked with pride at the Remembrance Parade in Aldridge, laying a wreath on behalf of residents, as a heartfelt tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
