Taking on the role of Operations Planner, Callum Mahon has recently joined our ever expanding Logistics World team

It definitely wouldn’t suit everyone to work with their father, but when a new opportunity arose for an Operations Planner at Logistics World, Callum Mahon applied to become the latest member of our team.
Son of our Operations Director, Steve Mahon, Callum joined us at the beginning of the year and is already a great asset to the ongoing efficient running of Logistics World.
If you haven’t spoken to him yet, why not give us a call and start the conversation with one of these ‘facts’ about him!
Q. Where’s the worst traffic jam you’ve ever been stuck in?
A. The worst traffic jam I’ve been stuck in would have to be when I was traveling down to Portsmouth for a job not too long ago! A lorry carrying petrol had tipped and the motorway required emergency re-surfacing. What should have been a 3 ½ hour drive became an epic 9 hour journey and one that I don’t want to repeat in a hurry!
Q. What did you dream of becoming when you were a child?
A. As a child I was a keen football player, competing in many local teams until the age of 12. My dream was always to try and break into the professional ranks, or become a professional Aeronautical Engineer.
Q. What do you most like to listen to whilst driving? (radio, podcast, streaming music)
A. When I’m driving I mainly like to listen to either Capital One radio, or a podcast called ‘Misfits’. It’s easy listening as the simply discuss their day-to-day lives and recount stories from when they’ve been on holiday!
Q. What form of public transport do you prefer and why? (air, boat, train, bus etc)
A. My most preferred mode of transport is travelling via plane, because it usually means I’m heading abroad on holiday.
Q. Where would be your ideal holiday location?
A. My ideal holiday location is somewhere warm. I travelled to Cyprus not too long ago, fell in love with the place and yearn to go back.
Q. Have you always worked in transport?
A. My previous occupation was as a Service Engineer for a company who supplied fire alarms and security installation for both commercial and industrial businesses, where I mainly did work for Dunelm and Marston’s Brewery pubs.
