Flying high at Logistics World!

Logistics World has recently joined the Midlands Aerospace Alliance as part of our pledge to become a net-zero logistics company over the next couple of decades.

At Logistics World, we pride ourselves on being a forward thinking company, both in terms of our growth and expansion plans, but also in terms of our pledge to be a net-zero business by 2040.

January 2021 saw Logistics World move to larger premises, which in turn allowed us to expand our service offering to include more comprehensive warehousing, as well as a complete ‘pick and pack’ facility, and our ever expanding fleet now includes a number of Euro 6 HGVs, all of which comply with both Birmingham’s inner city clean air zone and London’s Direct Vision Standard (DVS).

To complement our pledge to become a net-zero logistics company over the next two decades, Logistics World has recently joined the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, who are equally championing the aviation and aerospace markets to go greener too!

Representing the Midlands region, which coincidentally has one of the largest aerospace clusters in the world, the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA) work closely with some of the UK’s most influential aviation names including Rolls-Royce, Airbus and Boeing.

Pioneering innovation, being a member of the MAA allows us access to market intelligence and the opportunity to network with some of the most influential aviation industry experts.

The aerospace sector is a huge link in the overall logistics supply chain. Given that most of the clothes we wear and grow food we eat has on average travelled 1,500+ miles, a large percentage of that journey will have been by air.

- Tim Wilson, MD at Logistics World

By working with Logistics World, your business can reduce its costs, reduce its carbon footprint, increase production and increase distribution efficiency.

In order for each logistics sector to reduce its carbon footprint, all industries must be aiming for the collective goal! If the road or rail part of the journey doesn’t share the same vision, then the aeronautical sector will never achieve a net zero target and vice versa. By Logistics World joining the MAA, all complementary transport methods can be assured that their preferred method of land transport shares the same ethos as they do.
