11 Great Reasons to Outsource your Logistics Needs

At Logistics World we are always looking for ways to make life easier for our clients, and over the years, our team and the services that we offer has expanded.

As our service offering has grown, so too has our portfolio of clients. In fact, 2023 saw a record number of new clients, many of whom cited that their primary reasons for outsourcing to us was due to our reputation for offering great customer service, coupled with the convenience that we can handle all their logistical delivery requirements.

Both are certainly great accolades to have been attributed with, and whilst we are always looking to the future to consider our expansion plans, we currently offer 11 key logistical services to meet with current demand.

1. Same Day Courier Service

Essential when time is of the essence, our same day courier provides a dedicated door-to-door delivery service. Ideal for small consignments, high value or fragile items, or documents of a sensitive nature, same day deliveries are always exclusively handled by Logistics World, can be booked at very short notice and are available across the UK and into Europe.

2. Same Day Haulage Service

Much like our same day courier offering, our same day haulage service is used when freight weighing up to 28,000kg is urgently required, and at any given time, we can advise of the exact location of each delivery, thanks to our GPS tracking system.

3. Two Person White Glove Delivery Service

Perfect for transporting heavy items, or larger fragile or valuable items, our two person white glove deliveries are handled by experienced and uniformed teams. These staff have been trained both to carefully unload using tail-lifts if necessary, and install in situ if required.

4. UK Construction Industry Deliveries

Whether tasked with transporting building materials, or valuable internal new-build fittings such as kitchens, bedrooms or bathrooms, any of our drivers delivering to a UK construction site will have successfully passed their Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). This safety led initiative, which includes the passing of two exams, is designed to ensure that anyone working on these sites is fully aware about the potential dangers on these sites, and as such, any Logistics World driver will have successfully passed it.

5. Dangerous Goods Deliveries

Frequently referred to as ADR, anyone involved with transporting dangerous goods, hazardous chemicals or contaminated or non-clinical waste must be certified to do so under an ADR licence. Since 2023, all Logistics World drivers hold this licence, which allows them to safely transport these products.

6. Waste Carriage Deliveries

More commonly known as offensive waste, Logistic World holds a waste carrier licence. This allows us to transport, recycle where appropriate and safely dispose of such goods, the majority of which are disposed of by the healthcare industry including GP practices, but also from police stations and local councils, and we can also carry WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling including appliances and refrigerated items.

7. Storage and Warehousing

Ideally located across the UK, our warehousing facilities are secure, allow for both short- and long-term storage requirements, and can be used in conjunction with or independently of our comprehensive transport services. Manned by experienced warehousing operatives, we offer both palletised or boxed storage solutions, and even offer a ‘pick and pack’ service where our teams will un-pack and decant items, then collate and re-box in accordance with the customers’ requirements.

8. International Deliveries

Available globally, our international delivery service is a cost effective way to transport goods abroad. Operating much like our same day delivery service, one dedicated delivery driver is responsible for the goods’ entire journey from the initial collection point to the final destination, and we also provide an onboard courier service for smaller, hand deliverable items.

9. Temperature Controlled and Refrigerated Deliveries

Covering the entire UK and into Europe, Logistics World are specialists in the transportation of perishable, refrigerated or frozen goods. Using our fleet of temperature controlled vehicles, which includes HGV’s and courier vans, we can deliver around the clock at temperatures of between -21° to +20° C.

10. Driver Hire

Predominantly covering the UK, our driver hire allows other businesses to hire our delivery teams to cover sickness and holidays, or simply as additional driver support during busy periods. Well presented and ‘white label’ uniformed if required, our drivers can support with ADR deliveries, haulage requirements and even European journeys when required.

11. 24/7 Deliveries

Much like the world in general, the logistics industry never stands still, and the demand for any transport team to be able to offer an around the clock service is a must! As such, Logistics World operates 24/7 to meet with the requirements of our many customers and clients who require out of mainstream business hours deliveries.
